Macca and Paul are joined live in the studio by Melbourne Lord Mayor, Sally Capp; as Sally gives un update on what’s on in Melbourne this Christmas time, upgrades to Melbourne Theatre district, E-Scooters, COP’28 forum.
Sally also spoke about new statue initiatives to celebrate more famous Australian trailblazing women, especially Vida Jane Goldstein, 1869–1949. Goldstein was a suffragist, feminist and involved in social welfare. As a Senate candidate in 1903, Goldstein was one of the first women in the British Empire to be nominated for and to stand for election to a national parliament. Goldstein made a further four attempts to be elected to Federal parliament. Current federal seat of Goldstein held by Zoe Daniel is named in her honour.
