On Sunday 1 February 2015, Victoria’s LGBTIQA+ communities and their allies came together in solidarity, unified by their diversity to celebrate as they have done for the past 19 years.
The 20th annual Pride March saw Victoria’s premier, Daniel Andrews, lead the march with his wife and members of his cabinet. Restating his mantra ‘Equality is not negotiable’, Premier Andrews became the first Australian state or territory leader ever to participate in an LGBTI-affirming march.
