Nevena and co-host John Safran talk to Angelica Di Camillo, Greens Candidate for the Prahran By-Election
Environmental engineer Angelica Di Camillo was officially unveiled as the Greens party’s replacement for Sam Hibbins, who resigned from the party and quit politics after admitting to an affair with a staffer.
“I put my hand up because I’m frustrated by the lack of action we’re seeing from the two major parties,” Ms Di Camillo said, flanked by Victorian party leader Ellen Sandell and senator Steph Hodgins-May.
“We cannot trust them to tackle the climate crisis, the housing crisis and the cost-of-living crisis that so many people in my community in Prahran are experiencing.”
Ms Di Camillo, a St Kilda East resident, was the party’s proposed candidate for the federal seat of Higgins before the Australian Electoral Commission announced it would be abolished ahead of the 2025 election.
She also ran for the Greens in the federal Aston by-election in 2023, and for the state seat of Rowville in 2022.
