Madeleine was born in a town called Sutton Coldfield in the Midlands, but couldn’t wait to get away to London, which she did at 18 when she went to university. But DNA won out and today, while she still loves and misses London more than anything, the bit of the Midlands she cannot shake is my team. She is a passionate Aston Villa supporter (one of the oldest teams in the League) which means she’s frequently up at 2am or 4am in the early hours to watch them play. She is currently JOY’s President and was heavily involved in Melbourne Queer Film Festival for many years. She has met Kate Bush, Mother Theresa and gate crashed a Blondie party once! She’s worked as a journalist/editor/subeditor/reporter/presenter for 30 years and is a passionate lover of the arts.
