Cathy Anderson joined Macca and cast their eyes over the big news stories of the week. Melanie Raymond from Youth Projects shared our distress at a report that money collected by beggars on the streets of Melbourne may have been confiscated by the police. Victoria Police refuted this in a statement provided to us.  Convenor of the Victorian Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby, Anna Brown previewed the World Congress of Families event that was about to roll in to Melbourne next weekend.

NT Opposition leader Delia Lawrie addressed the resignation of NT Deputy Chief Minister, Dave Tollner after he called the son of a fellow MP a ‘Pillow Biter’ and  a ‘Shirt Lifter’.

Our community spotlight was on Gay and Lesbian Health Victoria with President Liam Leonard. Michael Tortoni dropped by to share some of the wonderful memories he will take away from iconic Melbourne jazz venue, Bennetts Lane after it was announced this week that it had been sold. Matt Young from Melbourne Meditation Centre helped us to get a bit zen with some meditation advice and techniques, and darling of the Aussie pool, four time Olympian and multi Gold Medallist Liesel Jones previewed the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships from the Gold Coast.
