This week, Macca is joined by regular co-host, former Victorian Labor MP Bronwyn Jane Pike.
A discussion about voting and threats to civil rights kicked off the show before we spoke all things marriage equality with the mildly fatigued Rodney Croome, who has been a tireless advocate for same sex marriage equality in Australia.
We then met Tess Waters – she is hilarious and in a day full of comedy, dropped the first F Bomb. Her show WOMANz is playing as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival as is Arj Barker’s Get In My Head, which kicked off a rather interesting conversation that’s best left to your listening pleasure. We also met Jenhan Kuah, a young Malaysian comic who is part of a collective on comics from a region not known for a dynamic comedy scene just yet.
Cr Ellen White from Buloke Shire Council in North West Victoria spoke generously about the recent unanimous council decision to support marriage equality and what that has meant in the region, in towns like Donald, Charlton, Wycheproof and Sea Lake.
In the first of a new series of travel segments, JOY’s resident food guru Pete Dillon took us on a food journey to Singapore and Mexico looking at some of the dining hot spots and why these two countries are serious contenders for some of the best dining in the world.
Four time Olympic gold medallist and former darling of the pool Leisel Jones previewed the upcoming Australian Swimming Championships and who might be on the podium and representing Australia at the 2015 World Championships.
Funny, political and exhausting.
Aired on 28th of March, 2015.
