Dale Park Victorian Gay & Lesbian Rights Lobby @VGLRL, discusses some of the questions at the Phillip Ruddock @PhilipRuddockMP Religious Freedom Review on exemptions; the need for safe spaces for lgbti children in schools and the children of lgbti parents, as well as protection in employment. Marriage Equality was one battle but now the community at large discusses challenges to equality of LGBTI people as well as those with contrary religious beliefs. Who owns religion though? Many in the LGBTI community are people of faith. What does organised religion want to achieve in this debate? Religious freedom protections are there to prevent discrimination, not enable it.
