Episode #309 Tuesday the 16th of February,2016 at 10pm in the JOY studios Melbourne Town.This is part 3 of our special Women In Horror Month 2016.In the studio with The Squeamer is Lauren Stardust and Sally Christie! Sally Christie is The Matriarch of Horror for Cinemaniacs and she discusses the Demons movie soon to be screened in Melbourne and she also brings to the table a feast of Dario Argento, in particular the film that broke the ceiling ( in more ways then one!) Suspiria(1977). So who are these Women of Argento, so called? They have names and they have lives: Daria,Jessica,Stefania,Piper,Jennifer, Cristina,Macha,and Asia.Here we celebrate them and the movies that influenced the modern horror films of today!

Dario’s daughter Asia appeared in several of his films, taking the lead in 1993’s serial killer thrillerTrauma. She continued acting – cameoing in Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antionette – moved into directing (The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things) and found time to occasionally DJ. “I never acted out of ambition,” she says. “I acted to gain my father’s attention. It took a long time for him to notice me – I started when I was nine, and he only cast me when I was 16. And he only became my father when he was my director.”
