‘StArt Up’ artists, A Golden Age of China, MQFF & Lisa Daniels

David and Brendan discuss Noel Coward and then Brendan reviews standout MQFF films including Blackbird, Appropriate Behaviour & Lyle & will soon see Drown. Later in the show, David pays tribute to Lisa Daniels who is moving on from her role of 16 years as director of MQFF. And Brendan briefly reviews Avenue Q (part of The Comedy Festival) showing at Chapel off Chapel 25 March to 11 April.

Young artists Brit D’Argaville and Kate Fitzgerald who are 2 of the 40 artists in Victoria, who have their VCE artwork exhibited in StArt Up:Top Arts 2015 at NGV Studio at Fed Square (until 28 June). They talk about their own and others’ artworks and their future plans.

Mae Anna Pang— Senior Curator of Asian art at NGV tells us about a new Exhibition from 27 March to 21 June – A Golden Age of China: Qianlong Emperor 1736-1795. Mae discusses the beautifully preserved and exquisite pieces, the types of art and objects including a few European ones, stand-out pieces, her role in the exhibition and the multi-media at the end of the exhibition.
