
Singer-Songwriter-Guitarist Matt Andersen

Matt Andersen is a guitarist and singer-songwriter from New Brunswick, Canada. A powerhouse performer with a giant soul-filled voice and commanding stage presence, Matt has built a huge following by touring worldwide and letting his audiences and devotees spread his reputation through word of mouth. Sunday Sleep-in host Katie Purvis is one of those devotees, and she spoke to Matt by phone from Brisbane as he began his latest Australian tour.
In addition to headlining major festivals, clubs and theatres throughout North America, Europe and Australia, Matt has shared the stage and toured with artists including Bo Diddley, Buddy Guy, Gregg Allman, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Randy Bachman, Little Feat, Jonny Lang and Serena Ryder. Matt won the 2013 and 2016 Euro Blues Award for Best Solo /Acoustic Act, three Maple Blues Awards in 2012, and the 2010 International Blues Challenge in Memphis. He has received a JUNO nomination for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year, a CIMA Road Gold award, and two consecutive Maple Blues Award for Male Vocalist of the Year.
