The I In Us: Blume and Sebastian

Sexuality, Society & Culture

Little Jase and Paul could not wait to welcome Blume and Sebastian Walach from Melbourne’s alternative rock band Mystic Tea Party to the studio.

Formed in 2021, Mystic Tea Party has a diverse, densely layered sound, containing elements of electronic rock, trip-hop, grunge, psychedelic rock, dream pop, shoegaze, and electronica. Their work has been received positively locally and around the world. Learning they are intersex at the age of 16, Blume is also enjoying global success with their podcast series, “Interesting & SeXY”, which unpacks what it means to be intersex, and Blume’s own experiences of learning about and now celebrating their new sense of self and identity.
