A truly awe-inspiring episode of The I in Us when Paul and Little Jase welcome to the studio for the very first time, a dedicated family. Meet Suzannah and Rik, devoted parents to nineteen year old Leo. Leo has XXY sex chromosomes: 47XXY, also known as Klinefelter syndrome.

After some seven years of utter confusion and numerous visits to a wide range of specialists, Suzannah and Rik learned that Leo has Klinefelter syndrome. Today’s program follows Leo’s amazing journey through early childhood, his education and hobbies, right up until his present day pursuits. In 2023 Leo completed Year Twelve. He is now happily studying cookery at William Angliss Institute; a place where he feels comfortable and supported. “He’s awesome….he’s a great kid….I feel like I hit the jackpot….he’s great. It has been an absolute privilege to be his parent and to love and support him”.(Suzannah on The I in Us, 3rd April 2024)

Leo has demonstrated that, while Klinefelter syndrome has posed challenges for him, nothing is insurmountable Not for Leo, not for Suzannah and Rik.
