The I In Us: Stephanie Lum

Sexuality, Society & Culture

Stephanie Lum is an intersex advocate and poet living on Ngunnawal and Ngambri land. Steph believes strongly in youth intersex voices and founded YOUth&I in 2019, an intersex youth anthology of creative artwork and writings, to help establish a platform for young creatives to share and be visible

Steph’s poetry has been published in various publications including the Australian Poetry Journal and Not Very Quiet. More of their work can be found on Instagram @stephlumpoetry.

Steph has also been heavily involved in intersex law reform work, previously working at the Australian Human Rights Commission, the ACT LGBTIQ+ ministerial advisory council and consultations on the recent intersex legislation passed in the ACT.
