R U OK Day + Greens Senator Janet Rice on the plebiscite

Janet Rice R U OK Day

On tonight’s edition of The Informer we’re looking at mental health and depression in the gay community, in light of R U OK Day. In Australia, almost eight people take their lives everyday, and suicide is something that affects the LGBTI community at a disproportionate rate.

To chat about mental health and LGBTI youth we’re going to chat Lucy Thomas, who is the CEO and co-founder or Project RockIt, a youth driven movement against bullying and hate.

We’ll also be turning our heads to the potential upcoming plebiscite, and chatting with Greens Senator Janet Rice. The Greens recently called on Labor to commit to blocking a marriage equality plebiscite, amid reports the ALP is considering a compromise to allow this expensive poll.
