New Hope for Queer Kids Sleeping Rough

This weekend, the Victorian State Government unveiled a 109 million dollar package aimed at addressing the rapidly growing homelessness crisis in Victoria. homeless-lgbt-feature

LGBTIA people continue to be 4 times as likely to experience homelessness as heterosexual people and are at far greater risk of harassment and abuse, including from service providers.

We spoke with Jenny Smith CEO of the Victorian Council for Homeless People on what has caused the spike, and why LGBTIA people are so disproportionately affected. sad-malcome

We also spoke with Fran Bowron, Co-Chair of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras about the news that Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull may no longer be invited to the party.

This year was the first time a sitting Prime Minister has taken part in the parade, but Turnbull is no longer the belle of the LGBTIA ball.
