Smith Bill is Passed Through the Senate and Breast Screens for Trans People : 29th of November 2017

A massive day for Marriage Equality for Australia as the “Dean Smith Bill” to legalise Same Sex Marriage is passed through The Senate without amendments.

Cait, Dan and Darcy are first joined by Greens MP Adam Bandt to get his thoughts on the proceedings.

The gang then speak to Buzzfeed News’ Lane Sainty who continues to cover the Marriage Equality Campaign extensively and with an impressively eagle eye.

Activists Jason TuazonMcCheyne and Jacqui Tomlins join The Informer next to talk about their own journeys up to this point, what the decision by The Senate means to them and what they’re expecting to happen when the bill hits The House of Representatives next week.

Next, Darcy speaks to CEO of Breast Screen Victoria, Vicki Pridmore. Breast Screen Victoria want to highlight that the Trans Community should feel comfortable in going for breast screens. They are holding a special forum for Trans and Gender Diverse People in Melbourne tonight.
