Reporter Shannon braves the journey to Portsea to see how the other-side live from a safe comfortable distance of a picnic table.
She meets with Thomas Hounslow, a man who has spent several summers working at the Portsea Pub. The two discuss the importance of summer jobs and why Tom enjoyed his so much that he kept returning, and the differences between people who’ve worked hospitality and those who’ve worked retail.
There’s a fight where former chef Shannon and former waiter Tom battle it out over which profession is the best behaved. Shannon is sure she wins. Reality may think something else.
Then Shannon and Tom go off road to visit the beach where former Prime Minister Harold Holt went missing. Tom may try to push Shannon in the water when she starts talking about another former prime minister, Julia Gillard.
