Trailblazing Sportscasting Party Girl

Gillian’s co-host this week is TV producer and self-confessed party girl Anne-Maree Sparkman. After fulfilling her childhood ambition to be a television newscaster Anne-Maree went on to lead the way for women in sports broadcasting by becoming one of the first women commentators on the Wide World of Sports. She and Gillian discuss what it takes to make it in a sportsman’s world; her amazing dress sense; what the Bondi Vet looks like in jocks and what did (or didn’t) happen when she met up with Bruce Springsteen and Imran Kahn.

The music Anne-Maree can’t resist dancing to includes Robert Palmer, Joe Cocker and Lionel Richie and is smooth and silky, reminiscent of balmy evenings on a Greek Island, one of her happy places. By the end of the show Gillian has heard the word bikini more times in an hour than she has in the rest of her life while Anne-Maree is just getting started on Collingwood’s performance this year, and what to expect from them in 2017.
