Welcome to Transgender Point Of View (Trans POV)

Hi my name is Michelle Sheppard and a regular voice on Melbourne’s Joy 94.9 FM.
I am proud to share with you all my return to producing and Hosting a Trans/Gender show at Joy 94.9 as well as my co-hosting duties on Family Matters.

I was previously part of Transpositions from October 2014-July 2016 and we reached tens of thousands of people around the world and because of this JOY is has decided to develop a new show for the wider Transgender and Gender Diverse Community.
The Transgender communities are growing and so are the many stories from so many points of view. We want to show our listeners they aren’t alone and that there are other people out there just like you, and also there are more propel out there who support you.

Transpositions was such a great success that JOY FM discussed bringing the show back but asked ‘How could we make it better?’

Trans Point Of View on Joy 94.9 is a new show designed to take the success of Transpositions further and share the many voices that make up the wider Transgender community and their supporters no matter how you identify, Cisgender and Transgender alike. To give voice to the stories of the transgender community, to share stories at a human level by offering a diverse range of voices and is a safe place for you to share your story, opinions, and provide healthy feedback.
We are here to educate, inspire and engage.

If you have any feedback or have a story to share regarding transgender issues or anything related to gender then send us an email transpov@joy.org.au

Doesn’t matter if you are in Australia or abroad as the goal is to share as many global stories as we can with the world.

We would love to hear what you have to say!

Like, Share, Get involved!

*** We know that sometimes it can be hard to know who to talk to if you are experiencing a mental health crisis. If you do not have family and friends living nearby or a strong local support network it can be hard to get through difficult times on your own. Whether you are in a crisis or you just feel down and need to talk to someone, it is important to know that help is available at all hours of the day and night.

There are many free mental health hotlines and mental health online support services across Victoria, which provide crisis support, information, resources, counselling and therapy to people of all ages.

Where to get help:

  • Your doctor
