Love and War by Paul Haig. From his 1986 album, The Warp of Pure Fun. He’s Scottish and was also with the band, Josef K.

The Passenger by Iggy Pop. Request. 1977

+Easy by Faith No More. formed originally as Faith No Man in 1981 the band underwent numerous changes in line up (including Courtney Love) and name before hitting it big in 1989 with their 3rd album, The Real Thing. This tune is from 1993 and their 4th album, Angel Dust. LGBTI for Roddy Bottum.

+Respect by Life of Agony. From their 1993 debut album, River Runs Red, which is entirely about suicide…which says tons about what it was like to be transgender in the early 90s. The group’s leader, Keith Caputo, announced in 2011 that he was transitioning to female and is now known as Mina Caputo….and is a lesbian.

+The Cost of Freedom by Marla Glen. First track on her 1993 debut, This is Marla Glen. She’s from Chicago but her first song, Travel, won her an award that included a year in France. She stayed and became a star with the release of this first album. She now lives in Germany and is an out lesbian.

Tender is the Night by Bill Nelson. Nelson is a Yorkshireman from Wakefield – spent some lovely time there in the 1980s and 90s. This is from 1984.

A World Away by Comsat Angels. From their 4th studio album, Land, released in 1983. These folks were also northern English, from Sheffield.

In Your Eyes by Shirley Murdock. Request.

I’m in the Mood by David Sea. Request.

Aussies from 93 – Radiothon leftovers

*Rock this Boat by Things of Stone and Wood. From their debut album, The Yearning, 1993, the year they won best new talent at the ARIA awards – though they’d been touring since 1989.

*Never Miss your Water by Diesel. From his 1993 album, The Lobbyist. It was his fourth. It was released as a single, his 5th as Diesel. Mark Lizotte, aka Diesel, was born in the US but raised largely in Perth.

*Save Your Skin by Powderfinger. From their 1993 self-titled debut EP.

*No Reason by Beasts of Bourbon. It was on an EP called 10 Years Behind Bars – From the Belly of the Beast, 1993.

*The World as it is by Daryl Braithwaite. Taken from the album ‘Taste The Salt’ from 1993. It was only his 4th solo album since he began as a solo artist in the 1970s – he released his first single in 1974, first album in ’79.

*Cry by Lisa Edwards. From her 1993 debut Album “Thru The Hoop.” Lisa has backed up most Aussie bands and singers, from Kylie and Olivia to Noiseworks and the Black Sorrows.

You Don’t Look the Same by Play. Title track from their 1985 album, but released as a single 2 years earlier. British, but I can’t get a city on them.

Fountains in the Rain by Land of Giants. On Cannibal Dolls/Seven Men, their 1982 EP…though Discogs doesn’t list this track on that release. They also don’t list any other releases…

You Don’t Know by Scarlett and Black. On Living in Oblivion: 80s Greatest Hits compilation. They were British duo Robin Hild and Sue West…no relation, I don’t think. It was originally on their 1988 self-titled debut.

Justice by Colourbox. On their self-titled 1983 debut mini-album debut. Also British.

Cruiser by The Cars. From Shake it Up. Their fourth studio album; it was released in 1981.
