Move On by Fashion. On Fabrique, their second album, and a 1981 single.

Halah by Mazzy Star. Request. 1990

+Little Crazy by Fight. Rob Halford’s band after he left Judas Priest. This is from their 1993 debut album, War of Words. Halford was joined by Judas Priest drummer Scott Travis, Russ Parrish on guitar, Brian Tilse on guitar and keyboards and Jack “Jay Jay” Brown on bass guitar.

+Cannonball by the Breeders. From 1993’s Last Splash, the group’s second album, but first following the break up of The Pixies – Kim Deal, Breeders’ lead vocal and guitarist had been with them first. This song is their biggest hit. Josephine Wiggs is their lesbian member.

Fade to Grey by Visage. Request. The 12” version.

+Distant Picture by Cee Farrow. Red and Blue, his only album, released in 1983. He was German, died of HIV/AIDS related illness in 1993.

+Break Free by Queen. Request.

More than just the Two of Us by Sneaker. 1981 single, their best known. They were a West Coast US band active from 73-83…and I can’t say that I know them.

Aussie favourites

*Jessie’s Girl by Rick Springfield. Last week I wouldn’t have said this was a favourite. But I saw this meme on FB that said that the number one song on your 14th birthday defines your life. And this was it for mine! Totally cool that it was an Australian artist who made it big in the US…bringing my 2 lives together.

*I touch myself by The Divinyls. I only discovered this tune back in the late 1990s, long after its heyday in 1990, but I still love it … and her.

*Wanna be up by the Chantoozies: I got to meet and interview these amazing women a few years ago…one of the many privileges I’ve had being part of Joy. Have loved this track since my partner bought me an Aussie compilation album so I could get to know the music of her childhood.

*Forgotten years by Midnight Oil: It was really hard to pick just 1 Oils track. Not sure I’ve chosen wisely. May have to play another in the coming 2 weeks.

*Physical by Olivia Newton-John. As a very young lesbian I had quite a thing for Jamie Lee Curtis and when she was doing aerobics to this track…yum.

*Hungry Town by Big Pig. 1986. I don’t love it as much as Breakaway, but I’ve already played that this. In fact, I’ve had one heck of a time finding a 6th track that I haven’t played!

*Breakaway by Big Pig. Request.

Double shots of some of my favourites…Can somebody request some Abba? I’ve played all my faves this year…

Sex Crime by The Eurythmics. From Michael Radford’s film 1984, though you won’t hear it anywhere on it…there was controversy, studio vs director strife, etc.. Great album, though! And great song!!

Doubleplusgood by The Eurythmics. Came out the year I saw them up in Canada, from the soundtrack to 1984.

+You Give Good Love by Whitney Houston. Request.

+Oh L’Amour by Erasure. Love these guys! Thanks to Jeff Huang, a friend from university who introduced them to me. This was on that initial cassette he gave me. One of the few bands I’ve travelled to see live, a number of times.
