*Love At First Night by Kim Hart. Entered the Australian chart on May 26, 1980, peaked at number 6. This is more like it. Flash-in-the-pan New Zealand singer Kim Hart blended pop and disco to great effect.

*Ledge by Laughing Hands. Title track to their 1980 album.

*Duncan by Slim Dusty. 1980 novelty track. It was on the first CD of Australian music I ever bought…copied for my mum who still listens and laughs. I’m not sure I’ve ever played him on TripleX before!

*He’s My Number One by Christie Allen. A no. 4 hit for her in 1980.

*She Fell in Love with James Bond by The Eighty Eights. Originally from Newcastle and made up of Kent Jackson, Maurice D’Abruzzo. John Bartram & Larry Van Kriedt. This one is new to me tonight.

*Lipstick by Fun Things. Brisbane punk, this was from their 1980 self-titled EP.

Party Fears Two by Associates. a Scottish post-punk and New Wave band of the early 1980s. They were known for the operatic voice and theatrical antics of singer Billy Mackenzie, who committed suicide in 1997. This is a 1982 single from their third album, Sulk.

Waitress in a Diner by Jamie Sheriff. Last track on the 1980 album ‘No Heroes’.

Blind Youth by Human League. From their 1979 debut album, Reproduction.
