Word for Word

3 Sep 2010

Jeff Makin

Arts, Health, News & Politics, Society & Culture

Our guest this morning is arguably one on Australia’s most prolific painters and when it comes to Landscapes, it would be difficult to find anyone who has dedicated more to canvas.

Born in Wagga Wagga, he has for most of his life, been based here in Melbourne and having exhibited more than 70 solo shows from New York to London his artwork is more sort after and commanding higher prices than ever before.

With a career spanning more than 50 years, his academic achievements are almost as grand as his artistic talents and with a new exhibition about to open and with a new found obsession with, of all things, Chinese Landscapes, he doesn’t look like he is about to retire any time soon.
