Surrogacy is increasingly being used by Gay men to have their children however with altruistic surrogacy as the only legal option in Australia, going off shore for a commercial arrangement is increasingly occurring.

Moral and ethical issues aside, overseas surrogacy presents a vast array of legal issues, including but not limited to adoption laws and immigration upon return to Australia.

For Australian lesbian couples wishing to have children, IVF is the most sort-after option.
