One only has to walk through Melbourne’s CBD to see the quantity of people sleeping rough each night has dramatically increased.  It’s believed over 250 people each night, are sleeping on the streets.  Many more are couch surfing or in rooming houses.  How many of these people are LGBTI?

Tony Keenan is Chief Executive Officer of Launch Housing – a merger of Hanover and HomeGround Services. He has served in many community and policy advisory roles including as a member of the Australian Social Inclusion Board, the Australian National Council on AIDS and Chair of the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Gay and Lesbian Health.

Dr Ruth McNair is an Associate Professor at the Department of General Practice, University of Melbourne and a general practitioner at Northside Clinic. She is the inaugural Director of the General Practice and Primary Health Care Node (North West Academic Centre). Ruth is about to undertake research into the LGBTI homelessness.
