THE PHILIPPINES: HIV RATES ACCELERATE IN ADOLESCENTS – 26 September

 In the past 12 months, HIV advocates at the world level have been talking about the ‘end of AIDS’ and HIV positive people globally being able to access the right treatment to enable a full life.  But are they talking too soon given some alarming trends being seen in parts of Asia.

  • What is driving a rapid increase in young people becoming HIV positive?
  • Where is the roll out of new HIV prevention programs like PrEP up to?
  • How is Australia sharing our knowledge to combat the spread of HIV in Asia?

Having just returned from a visit to Asia, bringing us the most current update, we were joined in the studio by Bruce Parnell, the Infectious Diseases and Health Systems Specialist at Melbourne’s Burnet Institute.
