Earth Wind and Fire

The platform for this week’s song selection focuses on three of the classical elements EARTH WIND and FIRE.  Super star Carole King starts the show with her reported sexually aggressive song ‘I feel the Earth Move’. Local lads the Delltones deliver a great cover of ‘Get A Little Dirt On Your Hands’, the Bee Gees are discovering that the ‘World’ is round and the doo wop group the Penguins present their only hit song ‘Earth Angel’.

The show heats up with Jose Feliciano’s beautiful version of the Doors’ ‘Light My Fire’the dance group Trammps deliver ‘Disco Inferno’Johnny Cash sings about the ‘Ring of Fire’written by his wife June Carter and the group Blood Sweat and Tears featuring the robust voice of David Clayton-Thomas rendering a soulful cover of  James Taylor’s ‘Fire and Rain’.

Australian favourite Colleen Hewitt presents her 1983 version of ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’, baritone Harve Presnall  introduces ‘They Call The Wind Maria’ from the film Paint Your Wagon, The Association is tripping about with ‘Windy and the show closes with Australian Frank Ifield’s unique voice referring to the ‘Wayward Wind.
