Joy 94.9 is more than a radio station. It’s a family that you want to spend time with… unlike others where you have to make an appearance and listen to your uncle’s stories about his time as a geologist.
People Services & Culture manager Leenie Fabri and Weekday Program Director Chris Jameson capture the essence of Radiothon 2013, the massive fundraising and membership drive to keep Joy 94.9 on air.
Mr Jameson says it is important that people support Joy. Ms Fabri echoes his point. Joy is a station where all members of the LGBT community can find a place and feel safe. The government won’t support our people and the constitution does not recognise LGBT, she says, Joy fills a massive gap. “Help us save lives.”
