The Board of JOY Melbourne Inc invites members to attend the Annual General Meeting to be held at 6:30 pm sharp AEDT Monday 27th November 2023. The meeting will be held in person at the Theatrette at Victorian Pride Centre, Level 1, 79-81 Fitzroy St, St Kilda, VIC 3182  and via Zoom for those that wish to attend online.   

All JOY members may attend the meeting. All members will have received an email inviting them to attend the meeting in person, via zoom or to send an apology.  

If you are a member and have not received this invitation, please email the secretary@joy.org.au with your name, member number and best contact phone number and we will resend the invitation. Alternatively call the JOY office on 03 9267 6000, during business hours, and ask for the members admin. 

RSVP’s will close at 4 pm on Friday 24th November 2023. We understand that your attendance method may change at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., COVID or other illness) so we will send the zoom link to all attendees, even if you choose to attend in person. 

This email will also contain a link to the 2022/23 audited financials. 

The JOY Annual report for 2022/23 will be presented at the meeting and available here after the meeting. 

We are excited to announce that our guest speaker for the AGM this year will be the former Premier of Victoria, Dan Andrews who is a great advocate for our rainbow communities and who played a large part in the appointment of Victoria’s first Victorian Commissioner for LGBTIQ+ Communities.

Note that an election for board members is not required at this AGM as there were five vacancies and five nominees so the number of candidates is sufficient for the number of vacancies available.  

Should you not be able to attend the meeting in person or online and wish to vote on the motions (eligible members only*) please consider appointing a proxy to vote on your behalf.   

A proxy form is available to download here.  Completed proxy forms must be provided to the Secretary no later than 24 hours prior to commencement of the AGM which is 6:30pm on Sunday 26th November 2023.

*Notes:  
A voting member is classified as an eligible member, who is a natural or legal person who is a current financial member of JOY Melbourne Inc. and has been a member for at least 6 months prior to the date of the Annual General Meeting.
