WHAT HAVE WE SEEN LATELY ?

SHOW : FROM GENSIS TO BROADWAY : This was a cute little show at Chapel Off Chapel, with just two performers (male & female) and a 3-piece band trying to cover the history of music and musicals (in particular) in a couple of hours. They both had great voices, the tunes concentrated mainly on the 30’s to the 60’s, and it was a fun time out on these cold winter nights. And who doesn’t enjoy a night of show tunes?

FILM : A LADY IN PARIS : Actually, the French titles was An Estonian In Paris. It was a beautiful slow paced film about an elderly French (but born in Estonia) woman (Jean Moreau, and she hasn’t aged well) who gets a new carer, but doesn’t like her. She attempts to get rid of her, but Jean Moreau’s ex boyfriend won’t let the carer be fired. Thus follows a couple of hours of the 2 woman gradually adjusting to each other. It was beautifully acted and a real feel good film. A perfect movie to take your Mum along to.
