Show 480 / 5th July 2012
Welcome to my Touch Of Pink blog page. I will be having a little break, but I’ll be back in Octorber. In the meantime, tonight’s show is choc-a-block full of loud and noisy dance pop royalty, from Kylie to Conchita, Nicole to Andy Bell, and Sophie to Cheryl. So let’s get this party started …
My Single Of The Week is ‘Back 2 Paradise” by Guena LG and Amir Afargan ft Sophie Ellis Bextor. Guena LG is a French DJ Producer, Amir is also a producer from Tel Aviv, and it’s just fabulous to have Sophie back on a banging dance track. Did I say she was fabulous? Well, listen to this ….
Here follows tonight’s playlist. Tune in this Saturday on JOY 94.9 from 6-7pm for a bakers dozen of fab-u-lous tracks. Your host is Dick.

What have I seen lately?
Film: Ghosts: The Henrik Ibsen play, filmed live on the London West End stage and now playing at a cinema near you. This is a very fine production starring Lesley Manville as the poor suffering matriarch of a dysfunctional family beset with tragedy after tragedy. Not a happy afternoon out, but engrossing quality drama.

Film: The Volcano: A French farce, about a divorced couple forced to travel together to Greece for their daughter’s wedding. Unfortunately they don’t seem to like each other, and they were very nasty and destructive to each other for the whole film. There were a couple of humorous scenes, but other than that it was back to the nasty. It got a bit tedious after a while.
1 ½ 5
Exhibition : When You See This Remember Me by David McDiarmid @ NGV: A fitting tribute to this AIDS activist, an amazing collection of confronting, humorous, acidic art works, and a great documentary of his fascinating life. Anyone with an interest in gay life/AIDS in the 80’s should see this, in fact everyone should go see it. And it’s free.
