Tonight we’re doing lots of new mixes and stuff, from Bastille, Ariana, Delta, plus newies from New Order, Rizzle Kicks, Vato Gonzalez , and a couple of UK young men, Matt Johnson and Calum Scott.

Note: I’ll be taking a break from broadcasting after next weeks show, but back in December.

My Song Of The Week is a tie between Matt Johnson and Calum Scott. Full marks to Matt for a new song, but I also love Calum’s cover of Robyn’s song Dancing On My Own.

Matt was a contestant on the UK Popstars Show in a band One True Voice. It didn’t last long and he is out now on his own. Calum Scott got his break being a finalist on Britain’s Got Talent in 2015. So, below are their new videos … you be the judge.

What have we seen around town this week ? (Big week, this week!)

Movie : Sing Street : Lovely Irish film, set in the 80’s, about a group of high school kids get a band together to impress the girls. It’s just a nice feel good film, the kids are funny, the music’s great. Loved it.

Movie : The Legend Of Tarzan : Great looking film, Tarzan’s acting is (surprisingly) a bit wooden, but it builds up to a spectacular conclusion. Good, but not great.

Move : Goldstone : Excellent aussie movie set in far north Queensland, about a detective who goes to a (very) small town to follow up a missing person case, and get involved in some corrupt going’s on in the mining industry, human slave trafficking and indigenous land rights. That set the scene for a gripping thrill ride with spectacular photography.

Movie : Ghostbusters : This had all the right ingredients, but not enough laughs (just a couple of chuckles), and I’ve learnt that Chris Hemsworth is not a natural comedian.
