After 4 years Kylie’s back!

Tracey Thorn

Welcome to another hour of A Touch Of Pink, your show for tracks with a pop trash / remix flava and an emphasis on GLBTI content/artists. Tonight nine of the tracks have LGBTI content.

This week we’ve got some great new tracks from Tracey Thorn, Kylie, Brown & Gray, Troye Sivan, Dada Nada and Lisa Stansfield (woohoo!) plus so much more.

My Song Of The Week is My My My from Troye Sivan. Such a beautiful song from this Aussie gay boy, and a great taster for his forthcoming album. He also has a new single available, The Good Side, another lovely ballad. There were those who wondered if he could follow up Blue Neighborhood, but on the basis of these songs, the signs are very good.

Here follows tonight’s playlist. Tune in this Saturday on JOY 94.9 from  6-7pm for a whole heap (as many as we can get through) of fun tracks. Your host will be Dick.

What have we seen this week ?

Show : Priscilla Queen Of The Desert :  Re-boot of the 2008 show, more costumes, more songs (including a special costumes & boy dancers for Better The Devil You Know), more makeup and more wigs. A fun ride from beginning to end, and the Pop Music episode was suitably tasteless. Worth revisiting.

Performance : John Barrowman In Concert :  Scottish/American show boy(girl), also Captain Jack in Dr Who/Torchwood and Malcolm Merlin in Arrow. The show consisted of a lot of show tunes, AOR tunes, and a few pop songs, plus lots of anecdotes and a fabulous special version of the Wicked song The Wiz and Me, now rewritten as The Doctor (Who) and Me, with a wonderful video backdrop of scenes of Captain Jack and The Doctor sharing wistful looks. All the fan boys and girls loved did, as did I. He plated with just a small band, but promised to come back with the full show, including dancers, soon.

Dick’s Top 5 Videos For This Week

Tracey Thorn : Queen (the amazing voice from Missing, the song)

Beth Ditto : We could run (great song & message)

Brown & Grey : Top down (love me some country dance)

Kylie Minogue : Dancing (more country dance – audio only)

Black Stereo Faith : I’m too sexy (yes, you are)

Black Stereo Faith

That’s your lot ….. now sashay away …
