The “Detours” team explores Olivia’s experiences as a refugee from Romania through to volunteering with Dr Patch Adams in the Peruvian junges and Machu Picchu, Cuzco and Buenos Aires.
Born in Bacau, Romania and brought here to Australia by the Red Cross after her parents escaped into Yugoslavia just before the 1988 revolution began. That was her first flight – Bucharest to Brisbane. Since that moment, her love of travel only grew with each passing year.
Explore how Olivia returned to her homeland and then on to other romantic far away places.
All this including mud, garbage, heat, sweat, mosquito bites, dehydration, sleeplessness, crazy taxi bikes, smiles of children, long days, paint on our clothing, tears, support groups, heavy luggage, Patch Adams….here we come!!!
