Are David and Sue serious?! In an unaccustomed, possibly unique, alignment of the stars, all of tonight’s guests tackle big, hard-hitting topics. Not quite our usual Friday Drive fare. To lighten the mood … chocolate! David is nagged into sharing two Polish lollies and in the final hour it is musical chocolate and sweetness all the way.

The ABC’s star journalist Sarah Ferguson phones in to talk about her documentary, reporting almost fly-on-the-wall about the too-hidden, too-prevalent world of domestic violence. Hitting Home screens on Your ABC TV over two consecutive nights, 24 & 25 Nov. at 8.30 pm. Six months in the making, Sarah examines how an abusive relationship escalates to violence, even to murder. What are the warning signs? What can be done to intervene? Not to be missed!

David Woods and Jon Haynes are in the studio talking about their humourously serious show Give Me Your Love which looks at the healing potential of altered states of consciousness and the use of psychedelic drugs, in particular MDMA (ecstasy), for patients traumatised by combat stress. After performances in Melbourne 18th to 22nd November at Arts House, in the new year the show will move to locations in and around London.

Project Medea – Love is a Dangerous Thing will be performed at Brunswick Arts Space 25-28 November. Director Perri Cummings and performer Sally McLean drop by to talk to David and Sue about this production in which three women recount their shared tragedy, pieced together from fragments of memory. It’s a multi-discipline performance piece redefining the story of Medea and using filmed interviews of local women, from all walks of life, to create a modern Greek chorus.
