David & Sue talk to Rebecca Forgasz from Australian Jewish Museum about their “Love and Legacy – An Exhibition Celebrating our Grandmothers” Exhibition. It’s running from 6 May until 28 October 2018 and tickets are available at the Jewish Museum website.

Their site describes the exhibition as follows:

Ten grandmothers. Countless stories. Come and celebrate the fascinating diversity and complexity of the Jewish grandmother in our exuberant exhibition Love & Legacy. Through commissioned portraits, interviews, treasured objects and emotional stories, we cherish and honour Jewish women, who not only nurture us, but shape and support our community. Prepare to be dazzled by this moving, joyful and surprising exhibition, honouring our bubbes, nanas, mémés and savtas.

Love & Legacy is one of five new exhibitions launching as part of the very first Multicultural Museums Victoria’s joint project – ‘Grandmothers’. Multicultural Museums Victoria (MMV) is an alliance of five ethnic museums in Melbourne – the Chinese Museum, Co.As.It Italian Historical Society & Museo Italiano, Hellenic Museum, Islamic Museum of Australia and Jewish Museum of Australia – all united by a common, underlying mission – to promote awareness, understanding and appreciation of Victoria’s diverse cultural heritage.
