Darryl Davenport, Chairman at Para and Ability Dance WA , and organiser of Danceout, a same sex ballroom dancing competition in Western Australia, joins us to share an Australian first! Darryl and his ParaDance Sport partner Danielle Stitfall represented Australia at the Tokyo Para–Dance Sport International Competition – the first Australian team to ever compete in wheelchair Para Dance Sport on the world stage! Have you thought about participating in the Gay Games an event considered to be the most important sports and cultural competition of diversity organised by the LGBTIQA+ community, and like the Olympic Games, held every four years? This year the Gay Games take place from November 3 to 11th and is shared for the first time by two capital cities – co-host Hong Kong and the city of Guadalajara in Mexico. Monica Sanchez, Gay Games Guadalajara, Executive Director and spokesperson joins to share the excitement in the lead up to the eleventh edition of the Gay Games – an event which will revolutionise sports and culture in Mexico in working towards creating safer spaces for the LGBTIQA+ community through sports.
