The Voice to Parliament. We have a referendum on Saturday the 14th October with voting compulsory. The YES Vote was supported by more than 20 of Australia’s biggest sporting organisations coming together in a landmark move on the 26 May this year – National Sorry Day to support the Indigenous Voice to Parliament. AFL legend Michael Long, who has become a spokesperson for Indigenous rights and against racism in sport in Australia, recently arrived in Canberra after walking from Melbourne – a 20 day and 650km walk in support of the Voice to Parliament calling for change. Wil Stracke, Feminist, Lesbian, Trade Unionist tells us what the Voice is and what it’s not using a fantastic analogy with a brick and talks us through some arguments for the No case as listed in the official referendum booklet. (Interview starts at 29 mins 48 secs).
