Who doesn’t love an origin story?
And in JOY’s 30th year, a new show is premiering this week that dives into the history of your favourite LGBTQIA+ Community Radio Station – In the Beginning.
Like Indiana Jones – Chris Furneaux has his whips and Demetra Giannikopoulos has the key chain and carbina as they delve into the audio history of JOY across the varied topics that have shaped LGBTIQ rights and over 22 weeks explore how JOY has reflected them.
In JOY’s 30th year, this program tells JOY’s origin story through a series of interviews, reflections, and archival audio.
In the Beginning – Thursdays 6pm.
Hosted by Demetra and JOY archivist Chris.
