Lefty Pinkoes

23 Apr 2013

Jax’s Toy Box

Society & Culture

Hailing from Lismore in Northern NSW, Jax Brown is a feminist, disability and queer activist who rides (and rocks!) a fascinating line between academia and lived, breathed, experiential know-how.

Jax makes for an absolute ripper episode of Lefty Pinkoes with her insights into the intersections of sex and disability, feminist bodies versus non-normative ones, sex positivity, sex toys and the fishbowl-like love life one can be subject to in queer Lismore.

Central to this broadcast is Jax’s spoken word piece ’Intersections’, a reaffirming and surprising ride into public/private sensuality.

This woman has a roaring fire in her belly and a flame that flickers from her head to match.
