One of Australia’s most successful female solo artists kicks off our new music this week. ‘Wings’ was written and produced by Sony Music’s hit making machine Anthony Egizii and David Musumeci, aka DNA Songs. We expect the run of hits for both DNA Songs and Delta Goodrem to continue with this one.
Bonnie Anderson’s first 2014 single, ‘Blackout’, hit the top 20. The follow-up single, ‘Rodeo’, failed to make any impression. Now in 2015, ‘Unbroken’ is a blend of the sweet melodies we first heard in ‘Raise the Bar’ in 2013, but with the slick production of ‘Blackout’. This should be a winner for the local artist.
Independent out-and-proud sibling twins Bec & Sebastian delighted JOY listeners with their first single, ‘Barricade’, last year. ‘Tables Turning’ is another fiercely emotional electro-pop ballad, with Bec’s vocal soaring to new heights.
Kygo is a Norwegian DJ-producer who has had a massive hit already in Australia. His collaboration with Brisbane expat Conrad Sewell, ‘Firestone’, hit the top 10 just a couple of months ago. Stole the Show sees him team up with ‘conflicted pop gospel’ singer from South Carolina, Parson James. As he describes himself as a gay, bi-racial son of a teen mum and drug-addicted dad, we expect we’ll be hearing more from Parson James in the future.
