UK pop megastars One Direction have rallied as a four-piece since the departure of Zayn Malik earlier in the year. On Friday afternoon they surprised fans and radio alike with the release of the first single for an upcoming fifth studio album. ‘Drag Me Down’ offers an insight into a new adult sound, and we think you will like it.

The 2012 release of ‘Latch’ launched both UK production duo Disclosure and out-and-proud singer-songwriter Sam Smith into the world. The second single from Disclosure’s forthcoming second album sees this team reunite and ‘Omen’ is an absolute grower.

It’s a little over a year since we first heard Jess Glynne with Clean Bandit on the chart-topping ‘Rather Be’. We now can’t get enough of Jess, and her single ‘Hold My Hand’ has quickly become a JOY anthem. ‘Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself’ is yet another shiny, mature pop gem.

For Here are a Melbourne independent duo, Bobby Vena and Daniel Livingstone. Bobby has featured on JOY previously with ‘Rain Fall Down on Me’. ‘Eye Spy’ is the debut single for this new collaboration.

The #1 DJ in the world, Hardwell, teams up with one of the biggest singers in the world right now, Jason Derulo, for ‘Follow Me’ – a slightly old-school progressive-vocal all-barrels-loaded dance-floor smash.

British DJ and deep house producer Duke Dumont is best known for hits ‘Need U (100%)’ and ‘I Got U’. His latest release, ‘Ocean Drive’, is Duke’s first time on our playlist.

Worldwide superstar and JOY favourite Sia is up to single number 6 from 1000 Forms of Fear. ‘Fire Meets Gasoline’ is very much what we’ve come to expect from the expat Aussie, and that’s never a bad thing.

Flo Rida recently had a top 20 hit with ‘I Don’t Like It I Love It’, teaming up with Robin Thicke and Earth, Wind & Fire bassist Verdine White. UK DJ-producer Cutmore, regularly heard on JOY at 1am AEST Saturday mornings with his In the Mix program, has created a funky house remix that we couldn’t pass up.

Set your alarm and tune into Rochén and Michael on the six at six for the newest songs to the mix, every weekday at 6am Melbourne time.
