Kicking us off this week and celebrating 20 years involvement in dance music is one of our all-time favourites, Inaya Day. ‘Breakaway’, ‘I Am tha 1’, ‘U’, ‘Every Breath’, ‘Natural High’, ‘Nasty Girl’, ‘Glamorous Life’ and ‘Rock This Party (Like It’s Midsummer)’ are just some of the songs we’ve loved her for over the years’ here at JOY. Honouring this momentous occasion, out-and-proud New York-based DJ-producers Toy Armada & DJ Grind have teamed up with Inaya to remake in spectacular fashion the 1993 smash hit classic from M People, ‘One Night in Heaven’.
Melbourne-based independent singer-songwriter Jason Singh is at song number four with his Jason Singh Project, producing and releasing one song every eight weeks for a year. He’s teamed up with a previous collaborator, Melbourne-based out-and-proud producer Sebastian Ivanov (Bec & Sebastian), who is kicking goals of his own in the EDM world at the moment. The influence comes through on ‘Feel for You’.
Scottish DJ-producer Calvin Harris teased us with his new sound and went straight to the top of the charts around the world late last year when he teamed up with Disciples for ‘How Deep is Your Love’. For the third time in their respective careers he’s collaborated with Barbadian-born, US-based R&B singer Rihanna for another great song, ‘This is What You Came For’.
Set your alarm and tune into Rochén, Adam or Michael on the six at six for the newest songs to the mix, every weekday at 6am Melbourne time.
