With the Easter break taking up every one’s attention, there are just two additions to the mix this week.
The first two singles from American singer-songwriter Joe Jonas’s band DNCE, ‘Cake by the Ocean’ and ‘Toothbrush’, were certified double platinum and gold respectively. However, their third single, the highly underrated ‘Body Moves’, charted at #2 in Japan and #62 here in Australia and failed to make any impact anywhere else in the world. They’ll be hoping their latest single, ‘Kissing Strangers’, will turn that around. As fans of DNCE, we certainly hope so too.
Surprising everyone over the weekend, Lady Gaga launched a new single in a performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California. Not only is this single, ‘The Cure’, not from her recent album, Joanne, it’s also far more conventional and pop-oriented than anything on that album. We love it.
Set your alarm and tune into Michael on the Six at Six for the newest songs to the mix, every weekday at 6am Melbourne time.
