And it’s a resounding YES! Celebrate with a mega week of additions to Melbourne’s most uplifting music mix.

Kicking off proceedings is latest from the Aussie band who are currently taking the US by storm. We’ve been huge fans of Sheppard ever since their smash debut, ‘Geronimo‘, in 2014 and ‘Coming Home’ does not disappoint. Written for people travelling home for the holidays, this one has hit written all over it, and don’t be surprised if you hear it a fair bit over the coming months.

One of our favourite Melburnians, Sebastian Ivanov, aka ALIUS, is in Europe making new music, but it hasn’t stopped him from releasing a jam in the meantime. ‘Forget About Me’ sees this out-and-proud singer-songwriter team up with Perth-based singer Blake Rose to bring you an anthem that you’ll be singing along to.

JOY show Neon Nights has had the past few months off, but that’s allowed its host, John von Ahlen, to do some musical magic-making through his alias Parralox. He features the vocals of Johanna Gervin in the re-release of ‘Electric Nights’, showing that the 2003 original is still as good as it ever was. The album edit is a total banger, but we think the added sparkle of a 7th Heaven remix will be right up your alley.

We always love hearing from Aussie group The Potbelleez. ‘Keep On Loving’ is no exception. Hear the chorus a couple of times and it will be stuck deep in your head. We know you’ll enjoy it, though.

We keep the local love going with Melbourne-based, Mauritian singer Valérie. After arriving here in 2007, she sang with a band then eventually went solo. Thank goodness for that – ‘Love Like That’ is a piece of sweet pop goodness that you’ll be ooh-ing along to.

Nick Littlemore might be busy with PNAU right now, but that hasn’t stopped him from teaming up with Luke Steele for a surprise Empire of the Sun release. We weren’t expecting to see a new EP, but it has dropped with a flourish and its lead single, ‘On Our Way Home’, is exactly what you’d expect from this electronic duo.

Your first thought when hearing Dannii Minogue‘s ‘Galaxy’ might be, “Is this a secret track on Aphrodite?” You might then think it’s from Fever. But in both cases, you’ve got the wrong Minogue. Dannii is currently supporting Take That on their Australian tour and thought it was timely to release a new single. We’re not complaining, and we’re sure you won’t be either.

Nick Talos is a German producer who has made a name for himself remixing some of pop’s biggest hits. British singer BullySongs has stepped in to lend his vocals to Nick’s debut solo release called ‘Glass House’. It’s a perfect fit for our daytime sound.

Learn to Let Go‘ is the second official single from Kesha‘s third album, Rainbow, which peaked at #3 on the ARIA album chart. She co-wrote the song with her mother, based on her mantra of not holding onto resentment or demons. That message might be useful for our communities right now, too.

Rounding out a huge week of new music is the latest from JOY favourites Clean Bandit, featuring the vocals of American singer-songwriter Julia Michaels. The band self-directed the video for ‘I Miss You’ and it is brilliant. The British threesome are far too creative for their own good, which makes us even more impatient for their forthcoming second album.
