Happy new year! Melbourne’s most uplifting music mix is promising to be even more uplifting in 2018, as evident in this week’s new additions.

The Greatest Showman has taken cinemas around the world by storm and its soundtrack has done the same with music lovers. The album has shot to #1 on the ARIA chart and its major single, ‘This is Me’, has debuted at #34. Although the Golden Globe-winning original version by Keala Settle has been the big mover, we’re loving the rework by Kesha. It’s a huge anthem that we think you’ll love to bits.

Swedish DJ and producer Tobtok got himself high on the Australian chart in 2016 thanks to his cover of Tracy Chapman’s ‘Fast Car’. This lover of Nu Disco and Nile Rodgers has released something new and ‘On My Way’ is perfectly timed for our summer. It’s a party bop that will keep you moving right into the wee hours.

We love a good dance here at JOY and the newest from French producer SWACQ doesn’t disappoint. He features the lush vocals of PollyAnna while musically battling Dutch musicians Pandaboyz and Lux & Marcusson in ‘I Want It All’. This one’s a total party tune – just don’t wake the neighbours when you have it blasting!

Regi is known in Belgium as a DJ, producer and coach on their Flemish edition of The Voice. He’s released ‘You Have a Heart’ featuring Belgian singer Olivia Tappeniers, also known as OT.

Keeping the heart theme going is Australian duo Ten Tribes of Texas, with ‘Heart of Stone’. Adaja Black and Michael Griffin were born in Melbourne but now live in Sydney, where they are creating music of all genres. This one is a 90s synth throwback and we think you’ll boogie along.

Wrapping up the first additions of 2018 is the latest song in the Fifty Shades franchise. Liam Payne and Rita Ora team up to bring you ‘For You’ from Fifty Shades Freed, the final movie in the trilogy. Gather your whips and shackles for this big one.
