It’s quite a week of additions to Melbourne’s most uplifting music mix.
We finally have our Eurovision song for 2018 and Jessica Mauboy has produced a major bop for Lisbon. Written along with David and Anthony of DNA Songs fame, ‘We Got Love’ is a song of celebration. Jess will be performing in the second semifinal on 11 May (Australian time) and you can keep up with all things Eurovision thanks to JOYEurovision airing Saturdays at 8pm.
British producer Sigala has come through with the musical goods in ‘Lullabye’. He has teamed up with superstar singer Paloma Faith for a song that will most certainly not send you to sleep. Get ready for a dance!
Local out-and-proud lad Sebastian Ivanov has spent some time in Sweden lately, working with the locals to produce an array of new tunes. ‘Impossible to Love You’ is the latest from this work to be released under Sebastian’s moniker ALIUS. It’s exactly what we’ve come to enjoy from this talented Melbourne-based singer-songwriter, and we think you will find it impossible not to love. Listen out for the amazing vocals from Swedish singer CILVR too.
ANI-K is not even 16 yet and she’s already hosted TV and radio shows, written music and released a heap of amazing pop tunes. We’ve loved her since ‘The Truth’ back in 2016 and we continue to love her work with the release of her new single. ‘Reckless’ continues an evolution along the pop spectrum that now includes a very contemporary sound that’s even more suited to radio. This girl is one to keep watching!
