Canadians Andrew Fedyk and Joe De Pace made waves with their 2018 release ‘Body’, and it’s taken them to a Vegas residency, world tours and festivals galore. As Loud Luxury, they’ve found time to record some new music; their debut EP, Nights Like This, will drop on 27 March. It wasn’t much of a night for the subject of their latest single, who got dumped at the altar. ‘Cold Feet’ sees a sad story told in the form of a riotous banger, which we’re all for.
Bisexual singer-songwriter Anne-Marie wasn’t sure why there were lots of Christmas songs being sung at the end of the year when there seemed to be nothing written for other special days. Hence, ‘Birthday’ was born. The English singer doesn’t care what other people think. She’s going to do whatever she wants for her birthday – and we’re happy to celebrate. We’ve got Don Diablo‘s remix spinning to really put the icing on the (birthday) cake.
Melburnian Peter Wilson has just released a double-sided single. ‘Don’t Call Me Angel’ is the 80s synth bop we’ve chosen for your listening pleasure. The gay singer-songwriter puts his signature sound on this one, which we think will have you humming along.
Cory Stewart is a gay Canadian singer-songwriter who released his debut EP, 7 Different Sides, in 2018. Since then, he has made a name for himself on queer playlists and radio shows in Canada, and we thought it was time to have him land on JOY. ‘Why Do I Even Try’ is a singalong bop with a chorus that will be swimming around in your head in no time.
He’s gone from presenting to kids on the BBC to having his music streamed over 1 billion times and broadcasting to more than 4.8 million Instagram followers. However, it’s only the beginning for English singer HRVY, with an upcoming world tour landing in Australia in May. ‘ME BECAUSE OF YOU’ is his brand-new single, written in response to a comment left on Insta by a fan. It might be a slow burn, but we reckon you’ll have this on repeat in no time.
Aussie trio San Cisco are ready for you to hear their new EP, Flaws, on 27 March and see them at Groovin the Moo festival in April and May. Josh, Scarlett and Jordi are also ready for you to enjoy their new single, ‘Reasons’, which is about letting the person you love know that you feel their pain and it’s ok to be vulnerable. The Fremantle band filmed the video in Coburg Town Hall in Melbourne, bringing the song’s themes together in a package designed to be pulled apart and studied.
