In this episode of Out Takes, we looked back at the Melbourne International Film Festival. The Festival had initially planned to take viewers back into cinemas, but last minute lockdown measures across Victoria forced the Festival back online for a second year. The Festival streamed on MIFF Play, the Festival’s online streaming platform, from 5 to 22 August 2021, offering movie lovers across the country some welcome escapism and entertainment. In this episode, we reviewed some of our favorite films and queer highlights from the offerings on MIFF Play. We also spoke with Mia Falstein-Rush, MIFF Shorts Programmer, about about this years incredibly diverse selection of shorts on offer and the 2021 MIFF short film Award winners.
