Grooming for health

Uncategorized

On Pets-A-Loud today we’re taking out the clippers and putting your pooch in the salon chair!

Giving your dog a good bath and clip is not just about sprucing them up so they’re looking beautiful and smelling like roses – meeting your dogs grooming needs is in fact, just as important as exercising and feeding them a good diet.

Getting your dog to enjoy the grooming experience may be a challenge, however, it’s a small price to pay considering the serious health risks associated with not regularly and, or adequately grooming your pooch.

Coming up on the show this week:

–          We look at some useful tips and the benefits of regular grooming,

–          Sadly The Lost Dogs’ Home sees many cases of neglect of small, long-haired dogs. We get the shelter perspective on this issue and also hear about one little dog’s journey from abandonment to adoption,

–          We explore a couple of long-haired breeds that require close grooming TLC,

–          And, Kate catches up with Denise, our new groomer at The Lost Dogs’ Home Frank Samways Veterinary Clinic.
